Easy Cloth Wipes Solution {Recipe}

I was all in on cloth diapers  from day one! We cloth diapered Baby A in the hospital and she hasn't worn a single disposable diaper. ( exception: the nurses brought her back to me in a disposable and as soon as they handed her to me, I ripped it off and put on some fluff).
However, that whole time I was using disposable wipes. For whatever reason, I didn't even think I could do cloth wipes too. I knew other moms did, but I guess it was too big of a leap for me in the beginning.
Just recently, about a month ago, Hubby and I switched to cloth wipes for Baby A. I am so glad we did! It is soooo much better!

I bought about 60 baby washcloths like these (link).

I saved an old Pamper's wipes container and washed it out.
Then I came up with the solution that works best for my baby girl's bum.

Many of the ingredients are optional. I recommend the soap and a moisturizing agent. I like the tea tree because it helps to prevent mold and promotes healing.

Recipe:

1 squirt ( 3/4 tsp approx) Dr Bronner's Castile Soap ( I like the tea tree scent)
1 tsp olive oil
1 tsp aloe juice or gel
3-5 drops tea tree essential oil
3-5 drops lavender essential oil
2 cups water

Mix all ingredients together.
Place wipes in container.
Pour solution over wipes.
Close wipes container tight, and shake to disperse solution.

Done.

I hope that this works for your baby too!

Do you use cloth wipes?
Do you have a favorite wipes solution recipe?

Some babies have sensitive skin, use essential oils with caution and care. Don't ever apply essential oils directly to your babies skin ( or your own) without knowing the proper dilutions. Omit essential oils if you/ your baby is sensitive.

Don't forget to check out my cloth diaper wash routine here.

Happening's Around The Re-Invented Household.: Work Outs, Baby A, Garden Damage, and More!

There has been a lot going on here. I have been super busy with Baby A. She has been learning new things daily. She says "shoulder" "baby doll" "bye bye now" and "help me". I love that she  says "help me" because it is easier to know when she needs my help with things.
She has been coloring a lot with crayons and side walk chalk. Her brain seems to  be developing at such a fast pace.
Her baby doll goes everywhere, even the bath tub.
I feel especially good about her development knowing that she is still getting breast milk from a bottle and we are feeding her whole foods, and not the processed kinds.
She will be 18 months old tomorrow~!

Keep an eye out on my blog for my 1 1/2 year progress pictures! I am fitter than ever, although it doesn't show as much as I would like. The reason it doesn't show as much is because the skin on my stomach still has not snapped back. Any other mommies of 1 year old+ dealing with loose skin still? I am feeling a bit self conscious of this issue.

I have been working a lot on organizing our home and our paper work. Getting our life in order has been such a rewarding process. It is not only the physical process of sorting but also the emotional freedom of getting rid of unneeded things. It also feels good to know where everything is at. I was super organized before Baby A, but since her birth my organization went south. Now I am finally getting back on track and it is wonderful to be my organized Type A self again.

I have been working hard in the gym, as has Hubby. We both have changed up our routines and upped our weights. Seeing progress again is so rewarding.
Loading up the weights, not all on yet, but I leg press 250#.
I suffered from acne for years....bad acne. I recently discovered that even natural  sugars make my acne worse. I have long gotten rid of all processed sugars. I noticed a correlation between when I would eat honey or a high sugar fruit and when I would get a major breakout. Now that I have drastically limited my natural sugar intake, my skin is clearing up and I am not getting the major breakouts that I used to.
My skin isn't perfect, but it is getting there! I don't have to wear foundation anymore.
I now keep my sugar intake to 2 bananas a day, and not much else. I chose bananas because they are great for before and after workouts...muscle recovery and limiting soreness.

The garden is doing well despite the roofers dumping shingles all over it! I will be continuing to update you on that. No progress on the avocado trees though, I am thinking the pits we have are duds...that can happen. We will try growing some more pits and see what happens. I would love to have an avocado tree indoors,
The damage left behind by the roofers! This is AFTER first time I cleaned up their mess.

It was supposed to thunderstorm the past several weeks, and still has not stormed yet. The humidity is horrible, but thankfully it is not taking a huge toll on my fibromyalgia!

I honestly think that the Immortal Velvet Hubby and I started taking 2 weeks ago has really made the difference. I feel that it is very anti-inflammatory. It is still too early to tell yet how extensive the benefits are, but it is definitely doing something. I do not feel the muscle fatigue in my work outs like I used to, I am feeling stronger.
We buy this from Surthrival.com. This is the Immortal Velvet Silver.

I quit taking my allergy medicine (Allegra) I have pretty severe allergies and asthma that is flared by my allergies. I however really want to see if I can get my body to build its own defenses. I really feel that the allergy medicine was holding my body back on being healthy. I am completely medication free ( someone who 7 years ago was taking 8 pharmaceuticals a day!). I am living proof that going off medications can improve health. It is not for everyone, but it is working for me.

How are you?

What is going on in your life?

I would love to get to know my readers. Though I do not know you, I care about each and every one of you.

Please comment below if you would like to share some exciting news or even depressing news about your life. I am always here to listen.

PS- The measurement for the lemon juice in the hummus should be 1/4 not 1/3. I apologize for the typo. I will correct it in the recipe.

Do People Think You Are Weird For Being Healthy ?

Do people give you a hard  time for living a natural lifestyle?
Are people offended, confused, or feel like you think you are better than them because of your lifestyle?

Evidently it happens to a lot of natural living families. While some people are understanding, many are not.

It has happened to us too. While some family and friends are supportive, others are not. Some act threatened or annoyed by our lifestyle, others offer unsolicited advice as if they think we should change our natural living ways, others just plain "won't deal with it".

I understand that it may not be the norm now, but many years ago, natural living was the norm.

We drink clay, eat spirulina, and don't allow our daughter sugary treats, this leaves "normal" people scratching their heads.

Mama Natural made this amazing video to help us all learn how to deal with those who don't understand or are "haters" of our lifestyle.

I hope that you find this video helpful!

Thanks Mama Natural!

Oil Cleansing!

You may wonder what "oil cleansing" is.
I did when I first heard the term.
Then after I tried it, I wished I had done it all along.

Oil cleansing is the act of washing your face with oil, instead of soap.
As someone who struggled with horrible acne for years, and tried every anti-acne & oil free wash on the market that I could find...I was surprised when oil cleansing worked for me.

A while ago hubby and I switched to natural soap, however, my face was still dry & oily at the same time. That horrible combination skin that every one dreads having.

I was like "what the heck" I will give it a try. After all, nothing else had worked over the years.

Guess what?

Washing my face with oil....is working!!

My skin is sooooo much better than it was before! It has mostly cleared up and is not combination any more, and it's not oily. It is balanced!

It even removes my stubborn waterproof mascara easily!

How do you do oil cleansing?

Different oils work for different people, the nice thing about oil cleansing is there aren't a ton of hard fast rules.

#1 rule: Do not use canola oil.

Use a natural oil.

Some oils people like to use are:

Grapeseed oil
Jojoba oil
Avocado
Olive Oil
Argan Oil
Coconut Oil
not my photo. image googled from around the web.

I personally wash my face with a 50/50 mix of Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil & Organic Coconut Oil.  I blend the two oils in a jar and keep it by the sink for face washing.

I apply the oil to my face in circular motions like a face wash, then  I take a wash cloth with hot ( not scalding hot, more like really warm!) water &  remove the oil with the washcloth and water.

Afterwards if my skin feels balanced, I do not use moisturizer. If my face feels dry, I apply the tiniest but of the oil mixture as a moisturizer.

The idea behind oil cleansing is LIKE DISSOLVES LIKE.

I just wanted to share, it doesn't mean it will work for every one,  but it works for me!

There is a lot online about oil cleansing, google it and see what you find. Different people like different oil mixtures :)

The Biggest Moneymaker....Cancer.

I honestly cannot add to this.

This article was well written and I found myself immersed in it as I was reading it.

All I can really state is my opinion that I do think that (like stated in the article) "the wolf is guarding the hen house".
We have a voice, we can speak with our dollars.

Buy organic.
Say no to GMO.
Buy used when possible.
Use natural/organic skin care products.
Be a label reader!!
Say no to sugar.
Use natural products to clean & freshen your home.

Be aware of what is going on around you.

Read whatever you can get your hands on to stay informed.

Know what you are putting in, on, and around your body....and do the same for your kids. It is our job to protect our children.

These are my opinions. I hope that you will read this great article!

Why I Love Dr. Bronner's!!

A little while ago, we ditched traditional soaps.

We were faithful Neutrogena & Softsoap users in the past.

We didn't use their soaps containing triclosan, as I long ago read the carcinogenic effects of triclosan which is found in numerous anti-bacterial soaps.

We don't use face soap, we don't use body soap, we don't use hand soap.

We use one soap for these 3 things.

That's right, only one.

My skin is clearer and body gets clean without my skin getting dried out. My hands no longer start to crack from all the hand washing.

It's wonderful.

We use Dr. Bronner's soap full strength as a body wash ( it suds up nicely on a poof),  and well diluted  with water in a foaming pump to use as both face & hand soaps.

Dr. Bronner's Tea Tree Castile Soap

It works like a charm.

It supposedly has 18 different uses in this 1 soap!

Ingredients from their website:

"INGREDIENTS: Water, Saponified Organic Coconut*, Organic Palm* and Organic Olive* Oils (w/Retained Glycerin), Organic Hemp Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil, Essential Oils**, Citric Acid, Vitamin E"

Other Claims from their site:

  • Completely Biodegradable and Vegetable-Based
  • Made with Certified Fair Trade and Organic Oils
  • Multi-Purpose: 18-in-1 Uses
  • No Synthetic Foaming Agents, Thickeners or Preservatives
    • 100% Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) Cylinder Bottles and Paper Labels
    • Simple, Ecological Formulations Based on Old-World Quality and Expertise
    • I love how eco-friendly this company is! They make other products too!

I am so happy we switched to castile soap as it is making a world of difference in my skin.

I read somewhere a long time ago that your skin absorbs 60% of what is put on it, so why not put something natural on it?!

If you are putting yucky chemicals on your skin, then your skin is absorbing those yucky chemicals.
However if you are putting natural oils and soothing ingredients on your skin, then that is what your skin is absorbing instead. Isn't that wonderful?!

Anyway, this is just my experience with the soap.
I am reviewing this product from a product I already own, of my own free will!

Have you tried Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap?
Which kind? What is your experience?

Healthy Teeth Series: Fluoride is a No-Go.

I have always had sensitive teeth, but they were becoming more and more sensitive and brittle over the years.
I had my suspicions that my toothpaste was causing an issue. I used a major brand recommended by many dentists, but every time I brushed my teeth were more sensitive right after. I even had tooth pain.

This is why I don't use conventional toothpaste.
I switched to a natural toothpaste with no fluoride. My teeth feel stronger, they don't feel sensitive after I brush & I don't have tooth pain anymore. My teeth aren't breaking.

I did some research on fluoride and discovered that it isn't for me. I truly hope one day when I own a house, that we will have a whole house filter to rid our water system of fluoride as well.

I feel that it is that harmful. This is just my opinion & I am no expert, but I do know what does and does not feel good, and well, I have to say that fluoride free feels good to me :)

I read a few articles that I will list as resources at the bottom, but the summary of what I  have learned is this:

    • Fluoride is poisonous
    • Fluoride doesn't prevent tooth decay
    • Fluoride can discolor your teeth
    • Fluoride dosage cannot be controlled person to person
    • Fluoride can accumulate in a person's body
    • Dental Fluorosis is not pretty (go here to learn more)
    • It can affect your hip bones
    • Fluoride has been associated with IQ "deficits" in children

    Research for yourself:

Healthy Teeth Series: Taking care of your teeth naturally!

Things I avoid in caring for my teeth:

    1. Fluoride
    2. Chemical tooth bleaching products
    3. Sugars
    4. Chemical Mouthwashes

I recently ran across this video which is awesome.
I adapted my tooth care routine from his.

I don't personally use the zeo-light, however I do use a natural bristle tooth brush made from boar's hair. I also use a natural toothpaste that does not contain fluoride.

Before switching to non fluoride tooth paste I noticed that my teeth were getting more and more sensitive after I would brush & I even had some teeth in the back starting to chip!

I knew I had to do something. So I started researching natural tooth care and that is how I came across this video.

My teeth feel so much better now. I think 90% of it has to do with the new toothpaste I am using!

We all have to find what works best for us but my routine goes as such.

    1. Sea salt water rinse
    2. Tongue scrape
    3. Floss
    4. Coconut Oil Pulling
    5. Brush with natural toothpaste
    6. Sea salt rinse

    If I am in a hurry I do steps 1, 3, 5.

My mouth feels sooooo healthy and clean!

Here's the tooth paste I switched to, I get mine at Vitamin Shoppe:

    photo from vitaminshoppe.com

Here is the natural bristle tooth brush I use:

Record V from fuch's website. Only mine is pink!

The next part of the series I will explain more about why I don't use a conventional tooth paste & why I don't believe in fluoride.

Healthy Teeth Series: My Teeth's Journey to Health.

My teeth have always been sensitive. Not to mention there is a family history on my mother's side of teeth decalcifying & breaking.
I have a slightly chipped tooth in the front & a tooth in the back that started to break.

Interestingly enough I have not had any cavities that I know of and have never had a filling or any kind of work done on my teeth aside from a regular cleaning.

I do however believe that a lot of my issue with my teeth is due to having had major acid reflux from undiagnosed Celiac disease for many years, and on top of that a bad diet through out my childhood and teen years.

Which brings me to this....my teeth have stopped breaking, and a not anywhere near as sensitive as before. If I go from a bowl of hot soup to drinking ice cold water I will get a little sensitivity. However, I couldn't drink lukewarm water without getting tooth sensivity before, not to mention ice cold water which would send shooting pain through my jaw and face.

    It was a total bummer.

My teeth are feeling better, and here is partly why:

    1. Went gluten free/ dairy free to correct issues with Celiac disease & no longer have acid reflux.

    2. I eat a healthy diet rich in veggies & don't eat sugar.

    3. I take a calcium supplement.

    4. I do not use chemical tooth whiteners.

    5. I no longer brush with fluoride.

These are huge things in the transformation of the health of my teeth.

Through this series I am going to take you through various natural ways of taking care of teeth & certain things that I avoid in tooth care products.

I hope that you enjoy this series & maybe gain some knowledge on self  tooth car, as I am spending a lot of time on this series.

Christians: Your Body Is A Temple.

Ok, so I have been thinking this a long time. Anyone who knows me, knows that I always bring my points across with the best of intentions.
Also anyone who knows me, knows that I am passionate about health.
What I am about to write is in NO way an attack on anyone, only merely my personal opinion and feelings on an issue. I hope that it will be taken as that.

We are all entitled to our own opinions, and this is mine.

With the sugar series being posted on this blog recently, and then reading this blog post here. I could not keep my thoughts to myself any longer.

Growing up in churches my whole childhood, and coming from a convserative protestant family, I have seen a lot of church events... and a lot of food. A LOT OF FOOD.

The church events that I have been to could put a Superbowl party to shame with the amount of garbage food spread across the table.

The amount of soda makes me shudder. The fruit salad that no longer has nutritional value because of the sugary syrups and junk mixed in .... is a staple at almost every church event.

The cakes, cookies, ice creams, lasagnas, wings, pizza, etc. Oh, how the church loves their soda and greasy pizza...and they love to feed it to kids and teenagers. Yuck.

I was the kid that grew up in the church, I was the kid addicted to food.

    Isn't gluttony a sin????

The church preaches against addictions, yet they cater to the largest addiction in the country ( in my opinion ).
    Gluttony.
     The addiction to food.

The church may be a building where people fellowship, but there doesn't seem to be much fellowship without potato chips, popcorn, cupcakes, etc.

What about the food God created? The kind that doesn't come in a box or can. The kind WITHOUT man made chemicals.

Let me elaborate and tell you that I don't eat junk food anymore. I am not a church goer anymore ( for different reasons). Yet I love God with all my heart, I worship in my home and in God's creation, and I consume food God created.

I am happy. I treat my body like a temple. I am a physically healthy Christian.

    Let me further elaborate.

    1 Corinthians 6:19 (NIV)says:

"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;"

    Ezekial 16:49 (NLT) says:

"Sodom's sins were pride, gluttony, and laziness, while the poor and needy suffered outside her door."

    Proverbs 23:20-21 says:

"Do not join those who drink too much wine or gorge themselves on meat, for drunkards and gluttons become poor, and drowsiness clothes them in rags."

My point is this: The church is a building where Christians fellowship. A building that humans created. God built and created our bodies with love to be temples for His Holy Spirit. Shouldn't we take care of those bodies?

I find it HIGHLY hypocritical to be a protestant Christian who gorges themselves on bad food to the point of obesity, and justifies it all in the name of Christian fellowship.
Yet, I have been judged for no longer going to church, although I have a clean and healthy temple, and worship God and spend plenty of time in prayer.

How can it be that it has become acceptable to be this way?

It is my opinion that God would not want his children hypocrites, sickly, and addicts of food.

Much less judgemental of each other.

I am not saying this to judge in any way, in fact I am posting this to bring to light the biggest sin I have seen in the churches I have been to.

    It is sad.

So, why not gather in fellowship over some yummy leafy greens, some fresh veggies and water to drink. Maybe even eat some grilled chicken without the sauces, and some brown rice. For dessert, some delicious berries and fresh fruit.

    Yum.

    Guess what?

God created those foods, and they are good.

    My beliefs.

You may share your thoughts below.

    Tea Tree Oil Uses!

I absolutely love tea tree oil.
I think it smells great, a little goes a long way, it has many uses, and its not terribly hard to find!

We use tea tree oil in the wash with our diapers ( only 2-3 drops, it's some potent stuff) to disinfect and keep our diapers fresh! I also love to use it in the laundry with workout clothes to keep them smelling nice and clean.

Here are some other great uses for tea tree oil:

    1. A little dab to help with acne
    2. You can use it as an antiseptic in cuts
    3. Put a little on bug bites
    4. Add a drop or two to shampoo to help with dandruff
    5. Mix with water in a spray bottle and spray on mold
    6. Add a couple of drops to laundry when washing to keep clothes fresh!
    7. Can help with athlete's foot
    8. Put a couple drops in shampoo to keep lice away (useful if your kid has been around another kid who may have it!)

    ...and many more!

The brand that I chose to use in our home is NOW Naturals.

It smells great and works well! We bought ours at Vitamin Shoppe.

Check out the sources section to read more on tea tree oil.

Do not take tea tree oil internally, it is not meant for consumption!

Also, this article is NO substitute for medical advice.
This is for entertainment purposes only. All attempts to use tea tree oil are at your own risk.

This review is a on a product I already own, I was not compensated in any way for this review. All opinions are my own.

    Calories! And more!

I wanted to share a particular statistical graphic that I found interesting. Many of the statistics on this graphic were disturbing to me, especially the one on obesity.
I personally believe that  fast food is a huge contributor, but even the grocery stores can be a sad shopping experience for the healthy shopper.
There are way too many junk food options available, and way too many additives in our food.
It's up to each individual person to take charge of their own health.
Fill your body with whole, nutritious, and organic foods ( when possible/affordable)., I personally buy all the dirty dozen organic.
Avoid fast food, crash diets, and artificial sweeteners.
Then I think we will be on the road to changing these statistics.
I enjoy being healthy, and I challenge those who aren't to give healthy a try.
Of course these are my opinions, and no one has to take my word for it, but wouldn't it be great to look and feel great, and fill your body with food that fuels instead of  junk food sludge?

    Cloth Diaper Prep!

Thanks to all the advice on how to prep diapers, and my hubby lugging laundry down to the dryer for me ( thank you hubby! my 9 month waddle wouldn't get me there very well!)....our cloth diapers are prepped & ready for Baby A's arrival!

    Here's our newly prepped stash:

    Our Bottombumpers OS stash!
     3 diapers, 3 inserts.
These are some of the softest inserts!
And I love that the size is a snap down on the inside of the diaper. I like hidden sizing.

    gDiapers stash.
2  small diaper covers, 4 liners, 2 pail liners, 12 small microfleece/hemp inserts.
These inserts too are very soft. The pail liners will be nice in our Diaper Dekor pail.

    Our Sprout Change stash!
These are the diapers I am most excited about, which is why there are so many in our stash. 9 diaper covers (reversible), 25 hemp inserts.
These will be the ones she can wear from birth as they go as small as 5 lbs!
I love the internal elastic sizing for both the waist and the legs!

I cannot wait for Baby A to try all her cute little diapers out.

One surprise we had when prepping the hemp inserts was the amount of "fuzz" in the washer!  The hemp inserts shed like crazy the first wash or so, but then are great! At first I was a little freaked that maybe something was wrong, but it was all a part of the prep process.
Did you have any surprises or worries when prepping your cloth?

I will be sure to share my opinions on the diapers I have as Baby A tries them out when she is born next month.

There are a few other diaper brands that I would love to try out! I think the Softbums Omni system looks great with the slide 2 size system, and the Envibum diapers are adorable and unique with the waffle style inside and unique sizing!

Can you tell I am a sucker for OS diapers?

We also have 2 Fuzzibunz small wet bags on their way in the mail...for when we are out and about.

Has anyone used these (or any of the diapers mentioned in this post)? Opinions?

    Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Make your home a Healthy Home (part 2)

Part 2 of the Healthy Home post. The last post was on clean air and water. But what about chemicals people use to clean their homes?!
You won't find chemical cleaners at use in our house.

Here's a list of what you CAN find in our house:

    • X5 Steam Cleaner- I use this on the carpets to clean them, the tile floors, bathroom sinks, counters, mattresses, shower, kitchen, etc. This thing is just awesome. Stay tuned for my review in a later post.

    • Natural cleaners- 50/50 water & vinegar solution, baking soda, and rubbing alcohol are frequently used in our home.

    • Unscented Laundry Soap! I love Sun Free & Clear. It's awesome. It gets my clothes clean, without all the added junk! And it's not expensive.

You won't find Windex, Bleach, or any of the "standard" cleaners in our home, we get our home sparkly clean without the chemicals.

If you are someone who can't stand the thought of making your own natural cleaners, there are options out there. Clorox Greenworks is one of them. But keep an open mind, natural can be very clean & much better for your body.

Why don't you try "green" for a week? See how YOU like it! I love cleaning naturally and won't go back to the old way of cleaning again.

Make your home a Healthy Home.

    What is a healthy home?
For me a healthy home is a home that is not only clean, but is cleaned with eco-friendly products, and has pure clean air & water without chemicals.
This is part 1 of a 2 part post.

What are some essentials in my home that make it a Healthy Home?

    • Pur Faucet Filter -  The Pur Faucet filter we have in our home is the Mineral Clear Horizontal Filter. According the the Pur website it does this: "With the PUR mineralclear™ Horizontal Faucet Water Filter, you’ll get up to 100 gallons of great tasting, clean water that’s filtered over minerals. That’s 2-3 months of clean water right from your faucet—filtered to remove 99% of lead and microbial cysts, and reduces many other water substances like 99% of trace levels ofpharmaceuticals.**"               I know that my water tastes better, and when my filter runs out and needs to be changed, I can notice a definite taste difference in my water.

    • Honeywell Ultra Quiet Air Cleaner - We  got it last year and it keeps our air super clean! It has a vacuumable filter so that we don't have to constantly replace the filters.  According to Target.com (where we got ours) it does this: "True HEPA filter captures 99.97% of common household airborne pollutants and helps reduce airborne bacteria and viruses from the air that passes through the filter at 0.3 microns. The carbon pre-filter captures larger airborne particles and helps reduce common household odors. The HEPA filter can be vacuumed clean for longer life. Features 3 air-cleaning levels and an electronic filter change reminder. QuietCare Technology ensures quiet operation making it ideal for any room in your home."

    • HoMedics Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier- This machine is amazing in the winter time, especially with how the heating system dries out the air in our home.  As an asthma sufferer I have noticed that my breathing has drastically improved since we bought this last winter.  Read more about it here.
We recently got an Aquasana shower faucet filter, it will be nice not to shower in chemically/chlorinated water! I will let you know if I like it once we have it installed.

What do you do to keep your home a Healthy Home?

Benefits and Uses of Olive Oil.

There are so many uses for Olive Oil. I personally prefer Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil.  I use it all the time in my daily life!

Here are a few of the many uses for Olive Oil:
    • Hair Care- Comb a little through your hair to nourish and tame frizzy strands!
    • Help with earaches-  Dab a little onto a cotton swab and carefully use it to remove excess earwax.
    • Skin Moisturizer- Use it as a moisturizer after a shower to help keep skin soft.
    • Eat it! - Use it in meals to reap the benefits of Omega 3's and Vitamin E!
My favorite Olive Oil to use!

Benefits and Uses of Coconut Oil.

    Coconut Oil is amazing.
It smells wonderful, is moisturizing, and for me, instantly makes me think of summer time (no matter what time of year it is!).

There are many uses for coconut oil, these are just a few:
    • Cooking (it has a high temperature tolerance, and is more suited to cooking than olive oil! Read more here!)
    • Skin Care. (use it instead of chemically laden lotions! Read more here!)
    • Hair Care. ( I even use it instead of hair straightening cream, it nourishes my hair while protecting it from the heat).
    • Eat it! (throw it in a smoothie to receive the internal benefits! Read more here!)

I use Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, the kind I like is here.

Read even more on coconut oil here.

I love coconut oil for the moisturizing and healing qualities, as well as the anti-bacterial and anti-fungal qualities. A little goes a long way with coconut oil, and I have noticed a difference in my skin since using coconut oil.
I don't need lotion, just coconut oil.

Doesn't get more natural than that :)

Have you used coconut oil? Likes or dislikes?
Would love to hear your stories on natural care items you use!
Have you cooked with coconut oil?
If so, what are some of your favorite ways to use it in cooking?
