Weekend Ramblings....

The nursery has finally come together! I really hope Baby A likes it, because we put a lot of thought into it.

This weekend is birthing class. A big long 6 hour class, but I am really hoping to learn something new.

As I have posted in a previous blog entry, we are planning on doing hypnobirthing, but are also taking the Lamaze class that the hospital offers. I hope that I can take the best from both and combine them for a positive birth experience!

Natural is my goal. I can do it.

When you were pregnant did you take birthing classes? What kind did you take (Bradley, Lamaze, Hypnobirthing, etc...)?

Did it help you while you were in labor?

If you aren't taking birthing classes, what influenced your decision? How did your birth experience go?

I am not one for sharing a lot of personal pictures, but in effort to connect with my fellow bloggers & readers, I will post one today.

Me @ 9 months pregnant!

Weekend Ramblings.....

It's amazing how fast time flies. Hubby and I are rushing around trying to get things ready for Baby A.
We have had a plan from the beginning and followed checklists the whole pregnancy to keep things going on schedule, so that we can be ready when Baby A arrives.
It gets difficult to stay on schedule though when things arrive broken in the mail....like the changing table. Now we are waiting on new parts for the changing table...which can take up to 2 weeks. 2 weeks is a long time when you are 37 weeks along.
Thank goodness though my hospital bags are mostly packed, and the crib is put together.
We are still waiting on the glider, but that should be in soon.
However, Baby A has started to show signs of wanting to come out early....which could then throw all checklists out the window.

But that's okay. Sometimes life has other plans. And we can't predict every situation.
Hopefully the nursery is completely ready in time, but if not, well it will be done as soon as we can get the changing table & glider taken care of.

Did you have issues when getting the nursery put together?
Did your baby arrive early and throw your check lists out the window?
What's your story?

Weekend Ramblings....

As my due date draws near, I find myself wanting to be more and more prepared for Baby A's arrival.
I find myself steam cleaning furniture and carpet, washing baby clothes, mopping floors, organizing paperwork, washing bottles ( for pumping) and obviously working on her nursery in general.
I feel like I cannot be prepared enough for her arrival!

Although in general I am a clean person, I like things neat, tidy, clean, and organized, I find myself being even more so with Baby A's debut coming even closer.

Did you "nest" when you were expecting?

I see myself staying clean & organized, as it's a part of my personality.

Did you keep your house clean after your baby's arrival, or did it "all go out the window"?

Weekend Ramblings.... Halloween.

Before I get started, I am not trying to pick on anyone or judge anyone with this post. These are my own personal opinions about Halloween and how people celebrate or don't celebrate it.

I think that way too many people take Halloween too seriously. You have the people on one side of the fence who consider it a completely evil holiday & avoid it like the plague. I might refer to these people as "Halloween Avoiders".
Then you have the people who are all into the gore and violence of Halloween, that go to the extreme of grossing people out, and ruin the experience for people who aren't fond of gore. In my opinion, Halloween shouldn't be gory either. I call these people the "Halloween Crazies".

I am not picking on either group of people. However, I believe that Halloween isn't anything like what either the "Avoiders" or the "Crazies" make it out to be.

There is a fun, happy, light hearted side of Halloween. The celebration of fall time. The kid-friendly side of Halloween. The side of Halloween I look forward to celebrating with my daughter.

I love the costumes....nothing is cuter than a little Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, or a Pokemon character at your front door, asking for candy. Better still, the Halloween parties with bobbing for apples, jack-o-lantern contests, adorable costumes [again, so fun!]. Not to mention all the fun decorations like scarecrows and pumpkins!

I even look forward to some fun halloween movies, like "Casper the Friendly Ghost", "Ghostbusters", "The Corpse Bride", and "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown", and even  "Monster House"!

There are so many ways to have fun with a holiday, that in many ways, can make us all feel like kids again.

We celebrate Santa and the Easter Bunny, even though the holidays were "founded on religious tradition"...so why not have fun with Halloween too?

Do you celebrate Halloween? What is your favorite part?

As always there needs to be balance in life.....

Have fun, and be safe this Halloween!

Weekend Ramblings....

It's hard to believe how quickly time flies! Baby A will be here so soon! I am very excited to be a first time mommy. I have been a homemaker for several years now, occasionally working on weekends here and there. I love the cook and take care of the house, but being a mom has always been a dream of mine.
I have an amazing hubby and will soon have a beautiful daughter!

The best [and sometimes most frustrating part] of this whole process is the preparation! Being a Type A personality, I have checklists for my checklists! Seeing everything that still needs done before her arrival can be overwhelming. However the anticipation of holding my baby girl, is amazing. I cannot wait to hold her in my arms.

Only a few more weeks now! My belly keeps getting bigger and bigger & my checklists are getting shorter! Next off the checklist this weekend is the crib! Hubby and I decided on the DaVinci Kalani. It's so beautiful in pictures, I cannot wait to see it all put together!

Obviously we won't have this bedding! (picture from boscovs.com)

We still have a lot to do, but it is all worth it and so exciting in the process!

This coming week holds the challenge of packing my bags for the hospital. Looks like I have to make a checklist for that too!
What did you pack in your hospital bag?

Thank you for taking interest my blog. I hope that my readers have an amazing weekend!
Any plans?
