Weekly Recap!: Cloth diapers, Fun in the Sun, Donut Hole Recipe and Amber.

I hope that you all had a fantastic weekend! We sure did!

We had a great time at the beach on Saturday. It was nice to relax and "get away from it all". Armed with cloth diapers, spring water, and plenty of home made snacks, we had no worries. The water was beautiful, the people were friendly, the sun wasn't too bright....
While we were there Baby A met a friend the same age as her, she hit it off with her right away. They played and made sand castles. Even better, I found out that she was cloth diapered! Her mom was super friendly, we even talked tie dye.
It looks like I will be doing tie dye in the very near future! So exciting!

Also this weekend, we ordered some supplies to make our own sunscreen for our next trip to the beach this coming weekend. We ordered the shea butter, bee's wax, and zinc oxide last night...and it already shipped today! Talk about awesome! In addition we got the 5 lbs. of shea butter at an insanely low price!

Here are the products we are getting in the mail:

1 lb. zinc oxide from Essential Depot
(these are not my photos, images from essentialdepot.com)

5 lbs. Shea Butter from Essential Depot

1 lb. Beeswax Pastilles from Essential Depot

In addition, I have been researching a ton on the healing powers of natural hematite and amber.
I decided that amber best suited our needs at this time, but will be looking into the hematite (and possibly hazelwood) in the near future. I hope to share what I have read with you all soon!

We also decided to buy our amber necklaces last night.

Here's what we got:

Hubby's Super Butter Necklace from hazelaid.com
(these are not my photos, images from hazelaid.com)
My Nutmeg Necklace from hazelaid.com

Baby A's Super Butter Necklace from hazelaid.com
I am super excited to get these in the mail!

Even more ground breaking news for my amazing readers:

I got 8 out of the 15 likes on facebook for my donut holes...so since I like you guys so much, I will share my guilt free Cinnamon Roll Donut Hole recipe with you TOMORROW. The chocolate recipe will wait for more likes!

Yummy preview ;)

As I have stated recently, I also have a Naturally Fresh Deodorant Review which is almost complete and ready for the blog soon, as well as The Better Chip Review!

Weekly Recap! Happy Monday, It's a Jungle in Here!

I had a great weekend at home with Hubby and Baby A! It was really nice to just relax for a weekend. Although relaxing for us just means not running around like crazy, it never really means lazy.
We actually did a lot this past weekend, around the house and for ourselves which was really nice.
We both worked out on Saturday, I got a really great workout in. Squats and leg presses really got me. I also threw some deadlifts in there. I am pleased to announce that finally my waist is back to where it was before Baby A was born ( the skin it still not back, but I think that will take years)...I measured myself this morning at 25 3/4 inches! I was very pleased :)
We also ordered more of our supplements and vitamins. We got some amazing deals with sales and coupons!!  It is always nice to get good deals when it is something that you buy often....especially when you don't expect the coupon/sale!
I have been working on my review of the Naturally Fresh Deodorant and the MoistStic!
Baby A's "mommy" spider plant with tons of shoots.
We took care of our balcony garden. Which now has been over watered from so much rain. The rain was nice in the beginning, but now our poor plants are suffering from all the rain and not enough sun!
We have a lot of avocado seeds still sitting in the window sill. A lot of them are cracked and a couple are split and starting to want to sprout. We are excited about this as once they are sprouted we can then plant them in some soil. We planted some organic peach pits and pear seeds in some dirt too, just to see what happens.
Avocado pit after several weeks, getting ready to sprout!
Baby A is loving her spider plant which is absolutely flourishing, we have a ton of little "babies" after only a couple of weeks of having the plant. Her aloe plant is also fairing well, she got that 2 weeks ago also. I have been doing a lot of reading up on how to take care of our new plants, and to say the least our house is starting to feel like a jungle hehe. I am loving it.
Baby A's aloe plant.

How are you? How was your weekend?
"Baby" spider plants that we just planted.

I would love to hear how you are doing, and what you would like to read about!

Have a fantastic week!

Weekly Recap: Upcoming Reviews, Nature Hikes, and More!

I am so happy to share with you that we had AMAZING summer weather this weekend DESPITE the forecast for 7 straight days of thunderstorms. It was sunny, 90, and yes a little humid, but simply gorgeous!
We took Baby A to the park for some grounding....she loved running barefoot through the grass. We also took a nature hike through the woods ( with shoes on of course!) and just simply enjoyed nature!

In addition to that, I went to the allergist yesterday and learned that I do not have as many allergies as I used to! In fact, I barely have any. I only have one severe one, DUST MITES This is why I had such a bad allergy attack a couple of weeks ago. Thankfully though I am getting allergy shots weekly and it should help a ton! I also learned that I don't really have asthma, that I actually just have asthma like attacks from severe dust mite reactions. Whew! What a relief. I love good news. Being healthy and getting into nature has really impacted my health in amazing ways! I encourage everyone to get into nature and eat clean....your body will love you for it!

Even more exciting news!! I have 2 reviews lined up for you guys!! One is a review of The Better Chips newest flavor, I cannot wait to get it in the mail so I can share it with you all!
And  secondly, I just received Naturally Fresh Deodorant products in the mail for review! They included a Moisture Stic which I also cannot wait to try and share with you! The best part about their deodorant is it is ALUMINUM FREE! I will be testing it through workouts, nature hikes, and this next weeks hot weather! Please keep reading to see a review of this product!

Without further ado......

Here is this weeks weekly recap:

Last week was short on posting but I am bringing a lot of content to you all. It takes a while to take all the pictures and write up the posts, but I hope that you will enjoy what is to come. Please keep reading, and as always, I love your comments!

How was your weekend?

Weekly Recap! : Allergies, Weather, and Father's Day!

What a wonderful weekend!

I got a really good workout in on Saturday, despite major allergies having me down.

I go to see an allergist on Monday, the allergies this year are outrageous. I want to get off the pharmacuetical medication, so I am hoping that allergy shots and herbal medicine will be the answer. Do you suffer from allergies? What do you use to keep them under control?
I have to admit I am really nervous to go as I will be exposed to many allergens that will cause reactions....including my food allergies. I will keep you all updated!

Father's Day was wonderful!  Baby A and I enjoyed celebrating Hubby. He is an amazing husband and father, he deserved a day to celebrate him. We made him ice cream and brownies ( the healthy kind of course!) and a yummy pizza ( again the delicious healthy kind)! It was definitely a yummy day :) We all enjoyed our time together.

The weather has been crummy and rainy lately! Very little sunshine is peeking through. How is the weather where you live?

Here are last weeks posts:

  1. (WR) Allergies and Lazy Days
  2. What I Wish I Had Known Before Becoming a Mommy!
  3. (TT) Gym, Thunderstorms, and Sleep!

Have a wonderful week!

Happy Tuesday!

Weekly Recap!: Allergies and Lazy Days

This weekend was super beautiful weather!
Unfortunately, I was unable to enjoy it.

After going off my allergy medication for a couple of months ( with no issues), I had an allergy attack, and it is taking a long time to get better! Itchy eyes and skin, swollen throat, stuffy nose, raspy voice....even body aches....you get the picture. I was not happy. I have been getting outside every nice day this spring/summer, and this weekend was the first I was unable to enjoy. It was also the nicest weather we have had in a week!

What confused me was I have been on nature hikes, etc, all outdoors, with no issues....yet I go into a dusty office building and boom! allergy attack.

Hopefully this goes away. I am on day 3 of misery. I did steam clean the entire house top to bottom to clear allergens from the air and turned the  air cleaner on high. I am back on my allergy meds. I am also doing the apple cider vinegar and honey thing, but the combination is still taking a really long time to work.

What really has been helping is the saline nasal rinses! If you have not done those, and you have allergies....give it a try!

I sat outside for 5 minutes yesterday which was nice. I just wanted some sunshine as it is a really rainy week forecasted. It has already rained today.

On the plus side, I got a lot of laundry done! :) I also got some much needed rest and a lazy day on Sunday!

What have you been up to?
Do you suffer from seasonal allergies?
What helps you?

Weekly Recap! : 50th Birthday, Fun in the Water, Cracker recipe coming soon!

We had a wonderful weekend!
My mom's 50th birthday party was on Saturday, and it was a total surprise. I enjoyed spending time with our family.
We also took Baby A to the new splash pad at the local park, she loved it!! She kept calling it a "show show" (shower).

We have been enjoying the sunshine, but the weather has been cooler the past couple of days, not very summer-like at all.

I will update you more on our avocado tree growing soon! I would write more about it today, but I did not take pictures to show you yet.

I also have been making a lot of cracker to go with the hummus recipe ( find in the ReInvented Recipes tab). The crackers are delicious! I just cannot wait to share the recipe with you!

How have you all been?

Here is your weekly recap:

I am hoping to post a lot more soon! Things are just now starting to calm down around here.
I have been and am in the process of changing my daily routine with Baby A, and we just started limiting the pacifier to night time and naps only, so it has been interesting around here!
Thank you so much for understanding my lack of posts that past couple of weeks!

Be Happy Healthy and Strong,
